Holistic energy concept with low PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) values
The IT consultancy akquinet and Stadtwerke Norderstedt have commissioned ENGIE Deutschland to build two highly efficient data centers in Hamburg and Norderstedt.
ENGIE Deutschland developed a tailor-made, holistic technology concept that combines an energy-efficient system technology with a sophisticated measurement, control and control plan.
ENGIE Deutschland is building the two data centers with a largely identical infrastructure. As a result, they serve each other as backup. At the same time, they are characterized by the highest energy efficiency: For example, the PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) values of the buildings are clearly below the industry-standard values. The energy concept of the two buildings is based primarily on the use of energy-efficient plant technology. The QUANTUM-IT refrigeration machines of ENGIE Refrigeration, a subsidiary of ENGIE Deutschland GmbH, are also used for this purpose. These are designed specifically for data center requirements and are characterized by high efficiency values.
ENGIE Deutschland implements the measurement, control and regulation (MSR) concept for building automation with the help of the company's own AXI.COS system, which combines access and security, energy and infrastructure technologies into an integrated solution. In the preparation of the tailor-made control concept, ENGIE Deutschland drew on many years of experience from numerous energy-saving projects.
