Efficient, non-flammable and more climate-friendly than previous refrigerants: R-513A is a pioneering refrigerant. That was reason enough for ENGIE Refrigeration to add this novel refrigerant to its portfolio in April of last year. “With R-513A we are betting even more heavily on sustainability. This refrigerant possesses a lower global warming potential and therefore already meets the future requirements of the F-gas Regulation today,” said Jochen Hornung, CEO of ENGIE Refrigeration. “That is how we at ENGIE Refrigeration help our customers convert their refrigeration systems to an eco-friendly alternative.” And this alternative is very popular with customers. In the past few months alone, the refrigeration specialist from Lindau on Lake Constance reported ten new orders involving QUANTUM chillers with R-513A. The refrigerant is in demand in all industries and with customers of many scales – from computer centres to hospitals and industrial corporations.
Eco-friendly solution from ENGIE Refrigeration
All of ENGIE Refrigeration’s QUANTUM models – air-cooled, water-cooled and split models – can be run on the refrigerant R-513A. Operating companies benefit from several advantages: R-513A distinguishes itself by safety class A1 as per EN 378 and a low GWP (global warming potential) of only 573 (AR4: GWP 631). The refrigerant is non-flammable and consists to 44% of R-134a, GWP 1300 (AR4: GWP 1430) and to 56% of R-1234yf, GWP 4 1 (AR4: GWP 4). It can be substituted for the former standard R-134a and uses the same compressor types: “When the refrigerant R-513A is used in a QUANTUM chiller, it achieves the same cooling performance and approximately the same energy efficiency as with R-134a,” says Jochen Hornung. “That is why this combination is suitable for a variety of applications and can help ensure an optimal cooling supply in many different applications.”
All QUANTUM chillers from ENGIE Refrigeration are alternatively available with the refrigerant R-134a, R-1234ze or R-513A.
