The professional approach to wind energy at the Pictorius Vocational College Coesfeld has raised the awareness of students for renewable energies. Within the framework of the Education for Sustainable Development (GNI), the wind installation project "Pictorius Windkraft" is one of the lighthouse projects of the school and in the region.
This year, a total of 319 schools applied for the competition commissioned by the Federal Ministry for the Environment. The commitment of the Vocational College will be rewarded with 2,500 euros, a project sponsorship with ENGIE Deutschland and the chance to win the federal prize with a further 2,500 euros.
Online vote on the best German climate protection project
In the competition for the national victory, the Pictorius Vocational College Coesfeld competes against the fifteen other state winners. Who will become "Energy Saver Champion Gold" will be decided by an online vote held until September 14, 2020 at energiesparmeister.de/voting.
Sponsors help state winners compete for the national title
The sponsors support their energy saver champion with public relations and online voting for the national winner. ENGIE Deutschland will sponsor the students from Coesfeld: "The Landart installation of the inter-school project "Pictorius Windkraft" offers young people the opportunity to explore the technology and design of our environment," says Manfred Schmitz, CEO of ENGIE Deutschland. "The climate campaigners are always developing new artfully designed wind turbines and delighting their audiences with them. We congratulate on the highly deserved award."
