Cologne - ENGIE Deutschland is starting the new year with a contract success: Hamburg-Kölner-Vermögensgesellschaft mbH, the central purchasing company in the Gothaer Group, which is responsible for strategic purchasing and facility management, among other things, has commissioned Germany's leading specialist for building services engineering, energy & facility solutions, renewable energies, and industrial refrigeration technology with the technical facility management for the building ensemble of its corporate headquarters. Harald Ewald-Baum, Head of Facility Solutions at the Cologne branch of ENGIE Deutschland, says: "For a long time now, ENGIE Deutschland has supported Gothaer with technical services as needed. We are proud to expand our partnership and to support Gothaer with our expertise in facility management from now on." Gothaer is one of Germany's best-known and largest insurance companies, with around 4.1 million members and premium income of around €4.4 billion in the 2020 financial year. The company headquarters are located in Gothaer Allee in Cologne-Zollstock. The campus there includes four office buildings and a twelve-story parking garage with a total area of around 170,000 square meters.
Since January 1, technical facility management and operator responsibility for the entire building ensemble have been the responsibility of ENGIE Deutschland. The contract runs for a period of five years and covers the operation of all trades from ventilation and air-conditioning technology, heating and cooling technology and electrical engineering to building automation, fire protection and sprinkler technology as well as communication and security technology. Maintenance of various trades as well as supporting activities in the furniture warehouse and event management are also part of the area of responsibility. A team of eight experts is on duty every day, including two janitors, four building technicians, a facility manager and a technical assistant. In addition, colleagues from ENGIE's Cologne office guarantee increased technical support. Above all, this well thought-out personnel concept plays a central role for the insurance company, as Patrick Merg, Head of Technical Facility Management at Gothaer, emphasizes: "We have known and appreciated the partnership-based cooperation with ENGIE Deutschland for many years. The conceptual strength and flexibility in the personnel concept, which takes into account our wishes with regard to professional qualifications and personal interaction, convince us across the board. In addition, the strategic orientation with regard to sustainability and climate neutrality of a service provider is important to us. That is why we are pleased to know that ENGIE Deutschland is the right partner at our side."
